At what age can you tell the sex of chicks? I have 4 chicks that I bought as "frizzles" I have read that the frizzle gene can be carried in many breeds so I'm not sure what the actual breed would be. 2 of them are starting to have a red comb and I'm curious if this could be an indication that they could be cockerels. They are 6 weeks old right now. Thanks!

This is around the age the males start getting bright combs. However, it varies with the genetics, breeds, and individuals when they start to show their gender.

Best of luck with your birds!

Just my luck! I already have two Roos from my last batch of chicks from the feed store! I think I'll starting buying sex-links!
