shipped chicks bubbles on chest

I just received some 21/2 week old chiks in the mail. Two have bubbles on their chest that are abnormal. I am pretty sure it may be their crop. I have raised MANY chicks so I know abnormal. This has never happened in shipment before. One chicks lump is soft and squishy and is leaking fluid. The other is hard and feels like it is stuffed with possibly the fine wood chips that were in the box as well as some of the treats that were in there. My question is, should they both be treated the same by massaging the crop or should I wait a day and see what happens? They both seem happy and are running around having a ball.

I bet they are fine.

I bet one has water in its crop and the other has feed. I would give it a few days and see how it goes. You should see a change in 24 hrs.

I went ahead and massaged them just a little and it didn't seem to do anything. I am truly curious to see how the are in the am.
