Chickens love mealworms and I don't think the label matters as long as they're mealworms! I'd give it a try.

Chickens LOVE mealworms....Freeze dried and live, they make great training tools.

Our girls are spoiled they get organic layer feed & scratch, veggie scraps bugs they forage up themselves ( free range ) and for a special treat meal worms, not every day though. Seems they go after them above all if given a choice.
