This is one of our nest boxes my husband built.

The Light Brahma gals love it. Of course they want to lay in the same hole.

Wow...there are some really great nest boxes on here!!!
If you're keeping it simple...I think just the plain old wooden box formats work best. Mine has a slanted roof so that they can't walk around on top of it. Just screw them into the wall 24 + inches up, and then you have the space beneath available.

Here's mine - DH made it out of an old cabinet - one side holds a 50 lb bag of feed. We also use cat litter boxes.
