Show Quality Hatcheries

The American Poultry Association (APA) serves as an advocate for the raising of Standard-Bred Poultry. Poultry, in this context, refers to chickens (large fowl and bantam), waterfowl (geese and ducks), turkeys and guinea fowl.

I am pretty sure it means that the chickens are pure breed. Like a Heritage breed. Breeds like Barred Rocks and Rhode Island Reds, also New Hampshire Reds are all great examples of APA chicken breeds.
In simple terms it means Prue Bred Chickens.

Okay thanks and I know Murray McMurray has a few flocks that are APA certified. Does that mean they are good quality or what?
APA certified means APA folks came thorough and the breeding flock had breed type and didn’t have disqualifications like wry tails and side sprigs on their combs. The birds are a good place to start a breeding program for show quality birds, but you aren’t guaranteed show quality in your order.
