Showgirl's in winter?

Hello everyone. I currently have a flock of silkies. I let mine out side during the winter and have had no issues. I am looking into getting a Showgirl hen and I was wondering what kind of special care she might need. I don't agree with putting a heat lamp in the coop unless temps drop dramatically and there is a chance I could lose my birds.
Any suggestions or tips for caring for showgirls in winter? (I do get a lot of snow)
