One of my Road Island Red chick has clear like saliva coming out of her mouth each time I pick her up. It's clear, a little bubbly & stringy. Can anyone tell me what this means? She is the only one I had to soak her botyom to get dried poop off which had bern blocking her. She seems to be pooping fine & shiws no other signs that I can detect so far. Last time I saw this is when one of my hens died to smoke inhalation.

Can you post pics?

Sounds like you squeeze its crop every time you pick it up so the water it drinks comes back up..

How old is your chick? I agree, it does sound like the crop is being squeezing when you are picking her up. Try picking her up a different way?

Just to rule out a crop problem - how does this chicks crop feel, have you noticed if it empties during the day and overnight? Even if you are only feeding chick starter, imho, chick sized grit should be made available free choice.

Chicks are 2 to 4 weeks old. Just got them Saturday & the chicks were mixed ages.
