Hello,
I'm new to raising chickens, I've had my three since April. I noticed last week that one of my Plymouth Rock's wattles were inflamed? I don't want to say "swollen" because they were more oddly long rather than big. Her roo was also big and puffy. Her one eye was half shut, no discharge just shut. Other than her appearance she was fine, eating, drinking walking, and chirping.
Just to be safe I put her in quarantine for a few days, but after seeing that she was getting better rather than worse I decided to let her back in the coop with the other two.
She just started to lay eggs about two weeks ago and now she hasn't laid an egg since this weird episode. I thought that maybe she got stung by a bee or rolled in an ant pile but now my Orpington Buff has stopped laying eggs as well. Not sure if this is related or not but it sure is alarming. Should I be concerned?
