We have a 2.5 year old Golden Comet or Red Star that we got when she was about 4-5 months old. We know they aren't know for having long healthy lives. Saturday she wouldn't get out of the coop, we put her down and the other girls started attacking her, so we separated her. She is acting blind, doesn't react to us almost touching her eye or to a flashlight. Very lethargic, will drink a little but not interested in eating. Her crop still feels full so there is either an issue keeping her from digesting or she is sneaking food somehow, I suspect the blockage. Poop is quite runny, kinda clear and cloudy mixed.

Certainly want to help if we can but sort of assuming it's some kind of infection or tumor...curious if anyone has some insight. She hasn't laid in about a week. Her eye and comb color still look great. We just started giving her small doses of aspirin and she still has plenty of fight in her when we do that.

There is the chance of avian influenza in your area, not to suggest this is what your hen has. But watch her symptoms, and if other chickens get sick, it's something to consider. https://www.countyofnapa.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=379

Check her crop in the morning to rule that out. Next thing to rule out is egg binding. She would have a watery, smelly discharge from her vent. But she may have just stopped laying because of molt and shorter days. If you think she could be struggling with a stuck egg, give her a whole calcium tablet, at least 500mg directly into her beak. This stimulates contractions to help expel the stuck egg.
