Side laying chickens

Is this normal for chickens to do? My two youngest lay down like this for a few moments (on their sides) and then they pop up and walk around like nothing is wrong.

I'm not sure if this is normal

My chicks do that to. I think they're sunbathing, especially if your deck is warm

Yes that is how they sunbathe. Adult chickens do the same thing.

My Welsummer does the same thing in the dirt. She spent 20 minutes rolling in the dirt, lying on her side with one leg stretched out. It was hilarious! She is always the dustiest of all my chicks!

Yes it's completely normal don't worry! I think they are sunbathing and I think this is the cutest thing. My chickens do this all the time when the warm sun is out Here is my sweet Bernadette sunbathing ON me!
