So I crossed a Speckled Sussex Roo with my silkies. I have one black silkie and one partridge silkie. Only one egg hatched so not sure which hen this is from. But here are the results and I AM IN LOVE!!!
This little one is probably 4 months old now. I was not sure if he was gonna get to full standard size or stay a bantam but looks like definitely staying bantam.
Sweetest little thing around.

That's from your Partridge most likely. IMO with what little experience I do have.

I don't allow large fowl roosters to mate my bantam hens... too much risk of injury for ME.

Cute cross. :love

What is the current age?

Luckily he was a rather gentle roo. Never had missing feathers from mating and he is gone out of the pen inco I got the eggs I wanted!
I also think it's more from the partridge silkie!!
This little one is around 4 months old. Give or take a few days.

Mine did the same...a silver partridge silkie and a Sussex rooster....here's what mine look like right now...also about 4-5 mo old. Female turned out red and the male is red and cream.

I know this is an older thread, but I had just hatched out 3 chicks that are from a white silkie roo over a speckled sussex hen. I have more eggs in the incubator from them as I hatch weekly.
She was getting picked on so i set her in a pen to recover and about 2 months later I decided she needed company and had an extra silkie roo. So glad I grabbed the eggs and set them lol
Hubby thought I was crazy but these babies are gorgeous.
I had stopped hatching any silkie at this point so I know for a fact these are from this pair.
I have 2 chicks that are identical and look like just like a speckled sussex chick but the third is from the same hen and roo but a bit different. It's markings are lighter and not as pronounced as the other 2. All 3 have feathered feat and 5 toes. Can't wait to see what they grow out to.
I have pics but this is my first post and still trying to figure out how to post pics on this. Once I do, I will update!

I figured it out on the pics lol
First one of darker markings looks just like a Sussex chick. I have 2 chicks that look like the first pic.
The second photo the chick has some but not enough of the markings. I will be interrested what all 3 grow into!
And thank you! They are little beauties!
