4 silkies coming up on 12 weeks now.

What is the blue/greyish looking silkie? Was bought as a white but clearly not.

Thank you!

Thank you! Was crazy when it started turning from white to the blue color. I hope she is a she! name is Tuna and the White is Mayo, then pickle and pepper. 🤣

That being said Tuna behaviorally acts like a roo, but I have seen other young pullets act that way so I don’t know!

They all look like pullets to me the bluish silkie is very pretty! But I don't know what color she is. Looks like she has white spots @LadiesAndJane and @LynnaePB know a lot about colors they might be able to tell you
Thanks for the tag! Agree they’re all looking pretty girly at this point. Pretty sure the white one is female. On the fence with the black one at this point and also on the fence with the bluish one. Silkies can go from looking female to looking male from 12 weeks of age to 15 weeks of age. So you’ll have to wait a few more weeks to be certain. As far as coloring goes, the last one looks blue. Do you have a photo of it when it was a chick? The blues feather in darker than their chick down which can give it this appearance. I guess it’s possible it may be mottled though this is rare in Silkies and a newer color being developed by some breeders including @LynnaePB 😊

Edited for clarity

Thank you so much! Lol a few weeks ago I thought they would be boys because of some characteristics.

Here is a pick of the white and the blue next to each other as chicks! I thought it might be a splash or blue when the feathers started coming in.

sorry for the late reply! I agree with the gender guesses as well though I wouldn't feel very confident until they are a little older. The white especially looks more pullet like at this point to me too. ☺️

I'd say the third little one is a blue or splash as well. That would be dark for a splash but I've had some similarly dark splash that came from a very dark blue hen of mine.
