Silkie wry neck just at night?

Hi all, yet another poorly chicken, this silkie (6 weeks) seems ok in the day but at night she can’t get back to the coup walks backwards and her head goes backwards/upside down. I’ve been giving vitamin e supplement and she seems ok in the day but as soon as night comes she’s like this. Any ideas?

As soon as it’s log I lift her head round and she seems ok it’s weird!

How much vitamin E are you using? I would give 400 IU of E, a little B complex crushed in a spoonful of water(1/4 tablet daily,) and a small amount of egg yolk for selenium. Hopefully treating for a couple of weeks, it may get better. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency sometimes can be a cause of wry neck, so giving both vitamins will help. B complex or Super B complex has thiamine and other B’s.

She might be worse at night because then she's tired and relaxing. Is she improving? How fresh is your feed, by mill date? Make sure that the feed is fresh and balanced for chicks.

I’m not sure if she’s improving as she seems ok in day but the night she seems really bad, maybe she is just tired she does fall asleep as soon as I bring her in and starts trilling! I’m giving her 409mg of vitamin e with egg she’s the lowest of the 6 chickens so she does seem last to eat when I feed her. The feed fresh and in date and the others are all doing really well.

Add another feeder, and maybe waterer; there's always someone who's 'last on the list' and it can be a problem too.

A lack of b vitamins also can cause such things. If the bird is not reacting to the normal treatment of E and selenium, up the intake of b vitamins.
Offering some more feeding places sounds good, not being able to eat in peace is stressfull after all.

She got better after a few days! I was so happy she the sweetest little thing it was distressing seeing her like that!
