Silkies are Stupid

Yes, they do have a soft spot on top of their heads, even as adults, and can be killed with a carefully aimed peck! Actually, you are right on target when you say they act like they can't see. They can't! That is the real poofy headed ones can't. I carefully cut the feathers from around their eyes (and my Polish too) and it makes all the difference in the world for them. Frankly, I think it's cruel NOT to help them see better unless you're into showing them. Then they HAVE to have a huge poofy head 'o hair to gain points. Silkies actually weren't meant to be that poofy but they've been bred to the point that the poor things can't SEE!!! Okay, I'll step off my soap box! LOL

mine silkies can see they just seem to always get to the other side of the run and look like how do we get over there. they just like to be lead around. i do make sure there fether are trimed. they ust seem a little more lost then all my others. but there alsothe most friendly i must say.
