Silkies

Hey everyone my wife and I are getting 3 silkies added to the crew, they're about 4 weeks old now, when can we put them outside in the coop?? And mix them with the other chickens ??

Silkies should be well feathered before being put out permanently without extra heat unless it warm enough out. At 4 weeks they should be acclimated to about 75 degrees.

I don't recommend mixing silkies with other large breeds, they mix well with other gentle bantams. Silkies can act odd and the crest can attract attention which is sometimes pecked by those not raised among them.
