I inheritated a duck from a neighbor and so far so good until these past couple of days. when she first got into the coop (after quarentine) she got picked on a bit and lost some feathers but then she started growing them back. Now one side of her head has lost it's feathers. I have her inthe house now to give her a week or so of recoperation time. They all have access to the run and food/water. nothing has changed....I don't want to get rid of her, as she is my daughters favorite bird....any suggestions?

How big is the area where they are penned? When I add a duck, I only let them all together in the day time when they are out of the night pen. That way the new one can get away if needed and integrate slowly. There seems to be less picking that way. Ducks are social, so they should accept her, but it might take a little time.

In the meantime, you can have some one on one time with her in the house and she can get used to you.

oh and pics please!
