Hi all

I have 2 ducks a few months old. Just this week they started laying eggs, pretty sure only from one of them so far.
Only had 5 eggs so far, but they have all been fine with good hard shells.
Then suddenly got a second egg this morning, i'm guessing from the other duck... But it's more like jelly with no shell at all!
They have both been on growers pellets, but will switch them over to layers today now that i can get down the shops.

I was wondering what the deal is, one of them laying perfect eggs, but the other ones appear to have no shell?

Cheers
Jon

I would not worry this happens from time to time .But a switch to a layer would help . Maybe get them some oyster shells. This will help them out with the shell trouble .Mine free range and get wheat and whole corn and are doing fine.Egg shells are hard.

Bit of time on google and seems worry was for nothing.
Ta muchly thought

Next question though, can i still bake with it?
Obviously it's not going to keep long, but if used the same day??

Definitely give them calcium, soft shells can lead to egg binding. And yeah, totally switch to layer feed!
