Someone told my chickens about Easter Egg hunts and they're taking it too far

I've got 6 hens. 5 who are laying and 1 from an earlier flock who is retired, has been for at least 2 years. I had seen an egg in the chicken run area by the waterer, I thought just a fluke. I had seen a couple inside the coop near the favorite nesting box. I figured the nesting box was occupied and the hen didn't want to use any of the 7 other nesting boxes so laid her egg right outside the favored box. I came out today and happened to look inside the 4'x8' coop and found 2 other eggs in the non-nesting area (and far away from it). I looked in the enclosure as well and found another egg as well. I've not searched my yard and I've been letting them out there so maybe there will be more to find. It's at least two different hens as the eggs are different. What is going on? Don't they know Easter is over? Is this just a quirk or is it a sign of something wrong?
