The Speckled Sussex bantam boys are just shy of ten weeks, and I need to start rehoming some of them. I can't wait until they get their adult plumage, so I'm going to choose by conformation, those that are the closest to the standard in body type, combs, shanks, etc.

I know they're not show quality, but I still want to possibly breed for my own flock.

So, based upon what you know of the standard, which three would you keep?

Not in any particular order...

1. Arby
2. Blue
3. Green
4. Purple
5. Yellow/purple
6. Red/purple (I can see his issues)
7. Red

Standard is here, for full-sized:

I can’t really judge at this age, but if we are going off of comb and coloring, purple and yellow purple are the most moderate and probably the best.

I like Green, Purple, and Red. I really think it's too young to make decisions on rehoming them if you're trying to get the best for breeding. Have you reached out to the breeder to ask their opinion?
