Okay so this little lovey hatched on April 4th. And I know it doesn't really matter who was her mom... but I have an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old girl and they INSIST that I be able to tell them which one of the older hens laid the egg that hatched this one...

We believe its a pullet (11 weeks old in this photo). We have very smooth feathers, yellow feet and such and a nice beard coming in, perfectly straight full comb. We are definitely a smaller bird, but not the tiniest thing ever.

For sure this little one had this beautiful guy as her dad (only rooster around) he had the rose comb I believe.

These are the two canidates for mom as they were the only two potentially laying when the egg appeared.
This is Heart, our Salmon Faverolle, who I initially discounted as the mom because well I am not sure she lays many if any eggs. But she has a nice full beard and the nice full straight comb.

This is Ginger, a little barnyard mix hen who is absolutely a tiny spit fire. She has the darker skin of a silkie and maybe part silkie or satin, but no one is sure. And her comb is exactly what you can see... just those 3 tiny little bumps.

The eggs were all about the same size and color so I can't tell from that but it makes me lean towards ginger. But I would appreciate thoughts so I can tell me girls that the chicken experts say " *insert name here* is Confetti's mom"

This is another egg that I'm almost 100% sure was gingers It was a little boy, so maybe that's why the much brighter colors.... He also had the rose comb like his dad....

I love Ginger!! Do you have any guesses what mix she is??
Unfortunately no. I have no idea what the woman had in her flock (I met her at a gas station to pick up the chicks) I was really only instrested in a cuckoo colored silkie but I couldn't take just 1 chick so she was the other that I took. The woman said she just let all her bantams running around breeding as they pleased.
