Brand new to poultry. Hatched 20 bob white since Sunday night. Assisted one out if the egg. Prognosis was poor, but after a night in the incubator chick was fluffy, alert, and walking! Put in brooder but as I’ve checked thru out the day I can always find this chick because one leg kicks out to the side at rest.

Chick walks ok…slight hobble, but really gets trampled in the quail cuddle pile. Can they have one Spraddle leg? And walk on it? Seems odd and maybe I’m misdiagnosing.

Have been trying to do “cup therapy” with it since I noticed as I’m not confident in my ability to bandaid its legs.

It sounds like something is wrong with the leg rather than typical splay leg.

If cup therapy doesn't work within 24 hours it's not likely to, and then you'll have the hard choice of raising a special needs bird or culling.
