I know this is an old post, but I just came across it and you seriously made me laugh! Too cool!Every year I raise pheasants to release on our farm (no hunting!) This silkie hen is the foster mom. She was sitting nicely on her (sterile) silkie eggs, so I slipped the dry fluffy just-hatched pheasant chicks under her two at a time. Although you can only see 4, she has 30 chicks under her. It's always funny when the pheasants start flying when they're about 2 weeks old - the chickens just stare and you can hear them thinking, "My baby did that?! What a super mom I am!" By the way, the nest she's sitting in is a bonsai training pot.
