And we now have a third hen laying! It's almost like....I spoke too soon! 
@krista74 , we do have a wooden egg in each nesting box. Just a guess, but I think with the first-time layers, they aren't really sure what is happening, and so don't get in a nesting box. I'm hoping/thinking they'll catch on. Our very first one caught on after her first egg. Our second hen that started laying recently laid her third egg in the box. So it seems to be the way it goes, for our hens anyway.
