I have two Polish hens, a buff laced and a Tolbunt. The buff laced is 22 weeks old and the Tolbunt hen is almost nine months old. Over the last few days, starting with the Tolbunt, the behavior has been.. not lethargic, but withdrawn. The tolbunt has been eating and drinking but generally wants to be left alone. Starting yesterday, my normally active buff laced, Lady, started only wanting to sit down or lay down, but is also eating and drinking normally, but is not her usual flighty self. Neither have started laying yet. I was wondering, what could be causing this?

Impacted crop is a possibility....?
Have they been eating long grass?
I was told to feed watermelon being it is water based for impacted crop...It worked...Her crop was hard and the Water in the Watermelon helped her break down the dry lump in her crop.

Not a true science but it helped my hen...
