Suicidal Chicks?

HI I just had my first successful incubator hath with 11 out of 14 and they are now a WHOLE 2 days Old. Anyway there brooder is in my garage and sometimes when we open the garage door or pull a car in they stick their heads out and franticly push and run around. Is it because they are scared or because they lose it sometimes? how could i try to calm them instead of having them freak out? i have but a thingy up in front to block their view but idk if that helps much

Mine will stick their heads throuh the wire and get excited when they see or hear us. My concern would be with you driving a car into the garage with them. Cars emit a lot of carbon monoxide and birds are extremely sensitve to gaseous toxins.
