Swollen face on one side

I have a Americana hen that has thick yellow nasal discharge and bubbles in her swollen eye. It is only on the right side. I have cleaned her eye and nose and applied antibiotic ointment. Any suggestions? I'm a newbie.
 
Welcome to BYC. Sorry your post wasn't seen earlier, but holidays are slow. I would suspect that your chicken could have a respiratory disease such as mycoplasma (MG) or infectious coryza. Bubbles or foam in the eye are common with MG. Does she have a bad odor around her head that would point more to coryza? Tylan 50 injection would treat either, but Di-Methox, a brand of sulfadimethoxine, would be preferred for coryza. Oxytetracycline can be used also for either in the water. These diseases are carrier diseases, meaning all chickens exposed may become carriers for life. MG can be transmitted in hatching eggs. Here is some reading about these diseases:
