I just bought 8 supposedly Barred Rock hen chicks at a Rural King. One definitely looks like something else. I've never raised chickens but have helped take care of some before. I have a lot to learn about them. We currently have a cat and had 3 dogs that passed the rainbow bridge. I'm getting an 8x10 shed and modifying it into a coop and I have a 10x10 dog kennel we are making into their run behind it. My brother in law has chickens so he is a big help. Posting a picture of the chick I believe is an australorp or marans? Suggestions welcome..lol

Hi, cute chicks. When they are around 6 weeks old, it will become easier to tell the breed. You can post on this forum for help: What Breed Or Gender is This?
