Awesome!!
Princess made her own maternity clothes until we found a lady seamstress - bought 3 dresses at $15 each. Princess thought we spent too much. Vacation was a trip to the river with a picnic and the requisite six pack. It was a simpler time.
And a better time.
@N F C I'll be waiting for photos of your trip!

I'm officially stressed - the house went on the market this morning. Here's the link if you want a nosey: https://www.trademe.co.nz/property/...75.htm?rsqid=86dd12fce06e4ca28139973bf3a1b86f

I've had to reinstate the divider in my chicken coop. After ages being fine together some of my bantams are getting bullied. One had blood all over her neck the other day and when I was cleaning out the coop yesterday this particular one, Cotton, literally launched herself at me in panic, landing on my chest, because one of the Orpingtons (who is a particularly greedy bird and bossy to boot) started coming towards her. Cotton is a nervous bird who generally isn't friendly (she's been like that since she hatched) so I was very surprised she sought out my protection. So she got to free range for awhile with some of her little bantam friends while I put the barrier back in place. Free ranging them makes me nervous because of the steep sided stormwater culvert that is home to at least 5 sizeable eels, but they had such a lot of fun grubbing around in the dirt finding bugs.

Here's our Cotton who is a gorgeous example of a Pekin Bantam (same as your Cochin Bantams) with enormous foot feathering. I actually found they were all calmer and friendlier when they were out of the run which was nice (made it easy to catch them when I needed to go back inside). You can see little Winter in the run wondering why she is missing out on the fun, though I'm thinking I could be wrong about the 'she' bit, as yesterday Winter kept chasing his/her mother making the funniest squeaky/laughing (cooing) sound.

Anyway, I'd better go keep cleaning so that everything is spick and span! :barnie
Beautiful house and beautiful chicken!

Ever see a picture of 'Al' ? Nope. :idunno
Well, actually, Al did once post a picture of a gathering at the church. So while I have no idea WHICH adult Al is in that photo, I HAVE seen their picture ;)

@Jae, the house looks great. And WOW the prices in Aukland!! Can you come out with some cash when you buy a place farther out?

We don't have a huge mortgage compared to most people but we'd like to get rid of it when we do move. A huge shortage of housing means prices are going up in other areas of NZ (plus there are quite a few people moving out of Auckland so demand for housing in other popular provinces is driving prices up). We are hoping we'll find a reasonably priced property that means we can be mortgage free. :fl

don't remind me Alaskan, The last of 4 pints of Rocky Road are gone, the 5th. box of Maxnum ice cream bars is gone. I have a raincheck for 4-pints of Haagen Daz for 1.99 each BUT, the store doesn't carry Rocky Road and I discovered the other flavors are no big deal. But then 1.99 is cheap for a pint period. And tomorrow is grocery day.

Plus which Walgreens(which is where I got my Rocky Road - buy 1 get 1 free) sale runs through Saturday and I asked my brother to please get me some when he shops on Sat.
