They peck everything but not a egg?

Someone layed a egg in the run and they walked around it like it wasn't there. I thought they would eat it ?

I've found a couple in the run and several on the floor in the coop, all untouched. I considered it good fortune that none of the hens bothered with them and have not discovered they're edible. From what I gather it's very difficult to deal with egg eaters and nearly impossible to break them of it once they get started.
