They're black Australorp...or are they?!?!

Hey all! Recently picked up some chicks from TSC (bad idea, I know!), including 4 that are supposed to be black australorp, but 1 of the 4 looks different than the other 3. This caused me to obsessively research all the different possibilities and I've come to the conclusion that I either ended up with 4 australorps as intended (though not breed standard), or I ended up with either small Jersey Giants or clean-legged marans. It's worth noting that there were 3 chicks in the bin that looked similar, but were half as big again. We were told that all chicks in the bin came in the same shipment, and the bigger chicks weren't feathered out any more than the smaller ones, so were avoided those out of concern that they were Jersey Giants. I'm suspicious the hatchery threw all the clean-legged marans in with the australorps. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'll add pics later, but the 1 that is different has darker grey/almost black legs, white undertones on the bottom of the feet (tops are mostly dark), a pure black beak, and is growing in pure black wing feathers. It also has way less white on it, mostly on the belly. The other 3 have lighter grey legs, almost pure yellow feet (the dark doesn't go down on the feet), mottled yellow and black beaks, and have white tips on the black wing feathers. They also have WAY more white on them, especially on their faces, including white rings around their eyes and white feathering on their ear tufts. They look almost grey/blue compared to the darker chick. I'm not sure how well you can see a difference in these pics with all my new chicks together, will try to add individual pics later! Thanks for any help!

Almost forgot, the darker chick is also getting in tail feathers like the rest of my chicks, while the 3 mottled chicks still have fluff butts. The 3 mottled chicks also struggled a LOT with pasty butt, 1 still is some.😒

As promised, more pics of individual chicks! Leg color differences are hard to see, I admit, but I don't have the best lighting. Any ideas?

I see black australorps (black and white)
and midnight majesty marans (hatchery mix clean footed marans, -darker chick(s)). I've raised both from chicks, but not very many of them. When they get bigger the Marans should have larger builds maybe, and def. more thigh floof and butt feather floof than the australorps, but it can vary. Also you can see a subtle difference in their beaks and combs as they grow. The midnight majesty marans (hatchery mix of a possibly FBCM and Cukoo marans) have a longer/more beaky beak than the Australorps. My black Australorps and MMM laid the same color, and both laid almost daily. Cute chicks!

So, the australorps having yellow feet is normal? I only ask bc I read that Jersey Giants have yellow feet/skin and Australorps have white feet/skin. That's why I thought I had 1 Australorp...🤔

I'm pretty sure that's the bottom of the feet... my JG and BAs looked the same
That's what I was referring to...the bottom of the feet as well as the top and up the legs to where it meets black/slate. It's all the same color. I still don't know what I have, but I'm pretty positive that I have 2 different varieties. I picked up another one that had pink feet, and it's looking and acting more like the ones with yellow feet, so I think they might all be BAs and the one with pink feet I'm thinking is a Midnight Majesty Maran. Time will tell, I guess?!?😂

I was losing my mind when i got my random feathered legged bantams trying to figure out the breeds... by the time I figured it out it was the whole "are you a roo" stresses 🤣

Hardest part of having chickens!!

I'm having the time of my life with it!🤣 I keep telling hubby I need a hatchery surprise box from cackle hatchery...he's not convinced, but it sounds like a blast to me!🤣😂

I have Jersey giants now and I don't think you have any. I did Australorps last April and don't remember exactly what they looked like. The one thing for sure, my grown jersey giants and Australorps look exactly the same. The jersey giants are not any good for breeding because they are the smallest birds I have but have a little copper color on the wings the Australorps don't have.
These jerseys are about 4 lbs and my jersey giant roosters are about 14&17 lbs. They cannot breed. Way too big. I got one chick out of them before they got too big. She came out blue and beautiful but is way smaller than the jersey giant/ Orpington mixes.
