Hey everyone,
I live in Charlotte, NC and I am very new to raising chickens. My 3 sons and I just got our first 3 chicks this past Friday and we are hooked. Right now we have them in a kiddie swimming pool with chicken wire around the sides to prevent them from jumping out. I can't believe how much they have changed in the past 3 days! We have already noticed that one of them is definitely in charge. My boys have gotten into the recycling bin and made them a little house, and believe it or not they cuddle up together in there to nap. I see how this can be addicting. I'll need to stay away from the hardware store where we get the chicks

We got 3 Buff Orpingtons. My husband and I went over the list of breeds sold at the hardware store, and this is the breed he was willing to get. I wanted to get a RIR and a Leghorn but he wasn't happy with some of the "cons" on the RIR and he wanted brown eggs
