Well, I've been letting the manbeast take care of the chickens for the last week or so while I work more. It seemed like a good arrangement, until I checked one of the nesting boxes and found my top hatter broody on a weeks worth of eggs! Apparently since he found eggs in the runs, he didn't think he needed to check other places.

They all have highly defined blood vessels and I remembered the picture of the welsummer/polish cross some one found. I'll have enough for a whole band at this rate!

We let our birds free range so its a Easter egg hunt everyday. We know most of the spot to check but every now and then a momma will show up with a entire clutch of babies following right behind her.
