I did once. Last year. Day 16 or 17. Cracked up the backside of the egg. Put scotch tape on it. That bugger pipped and zipped by itself with no problem.

I have a question about automatic turners. (Mine is a genesis1588.) Is it normal for them to jerk occasionally and make the eggs rattle? I was expecting it to turn continually and smoothly. But once in a while when I was running it to test the temperature, I would hear a sort of click noise. Now that it has eggs in it, I was watching when it made the click noise, and the eggs all shifted in their cups with a jerk. Should I be worried about this?

It sounds like it is getting in a bind and then breaking loose. I would make sure all the trays are seated properly. Also check the shafts for burs and make sure that none of the pins are catching on anything.

Once again, never hatched my own eggs but wanted to save the thread.

Bought another Farm innovator Styrofoam inc at TS. Its a lot nicer than my old one. It has enough room to hatch goose eggs with room to spare

I have done the normal hatch and the dry hatch, both have failed in my styro little giant the grow to half way a bam ! blood ring I have had two rotten eggs almost explode inside ive done everything right, I'm abot to take it back to atwoods, whats the problem
