Transporting 7 week old rooster

We have a beautiful 7 week old barred rock rooster that we arent able to keep, because of zoning, that we will be giving to a sanctuary/farm about an hour away. My question is: what is the best way to transport him? I know it will be stressful for him, is there a way to help him with that?

You could hold him on your towel-covered lap. They usually fall asleep on car rides when they're this little.
