Hi

Just trying to work out the ages of these pullets.

The light sussex I suspect are about 12-16

weeks? Does that seem right, they seem to be going through a molt.

The black/green ones are langshan/RIR cross, they are huge birds and a couple of months older than the others. The combs have started to redden, any thoughts on whether they are getting close to laying? From what I can tell they would be about 22 weeks.

If the Langshan cross squats for you it will be 2 weeks out before she lays. Your light Sussex looks 16 weeks old.
Thank you, no squatting yet but I have been keeping an eye out for it.

I haven't opened up the nesting boxes yet as one of them isn't roosting on the perches at night and don't want her to think the nesting box is a good option! Might look to do that soon though if you reckon they are close?
