I have a blue slate turkey hen that has been sitting on chicken eggs. One hatched this morning and is doing fine (sitting on her back!). Two more hatched while I was in town, but when I came back they were smooshed dead. I candled the rest of the eggs, threw out the infertile ones, and put the two that are pipping under another broody who was sitting on non-fertilized eggs. The broody wouldn't take the chick. Maybe after the other two hatch???
Any advice? Did I do the right thing? I was just worried that the turkey hen would smoosh the other two that were hatching!
Can she raise the chick ok? Should I leave it with her or try to give it to the broody hen tonight?
