I have a Chocolate Turkey that's 3 weeks old...It isn't growing like the others from the same hatch and is now lame (limping) in one leg. Does anyone have any thoughts about what it might be? I'm new to chickens and turkeys so I don't have a clue. Thanks

My hubby says that it happens on the turkey farm that he grew up on. According to him it is not usually connected to an illness but they could have injured it someway they have gotten it caught or something. Also for the size it could just be that it is small. There are always smaller chicks in a flock that were all hatched together (At least turkeys) we are newer to the chicken game but hey they can't really be that different right?

It is eating and drinking fine....and no swollen joints so I'm just going to watch it and pulled the larger chick out....

So sometime it uses its leg and sometimes it is not able to do so.....Do I just give it time?
