Turned out foot on day old Pekin

Hello all and Thankyou for taking the time to read this. ive just watched my Pekin chicks hatch and unfortunately one has a turned out foot. (Not leg) and His hock seems to be seized.
His approx 6 hrs old now and not using that leg just his wing to move around
Can I help this lil fella or will he need me to play Mother Nature in order to be fair to him

He may have a leg deformity such as a slipped tendon or varus-valgus deformity. Make sure that he has a non-slip surface to get around on (no newspaper or slick surfaces.) You might look at this link, and also start chick vitamins in the water or give him 3 drops daily of PolyVisol without iron baby vitamins daily, in case of a vitamin deficiency:

He is on wood shavings atm with the mumma

We visited the vet after my last msg and he was deformed. Nothing she could do for him so he was put to sleep

I'm sorry about your chick. It's really sad when they have leg deformities that prevent them from standing and walking, but it is fairly common with chicks. Many of these chicks from hatcheries are never seen because they are culled.
