I'm just closing in on my first year of chicken keeping. About a week or so ago one of my hens went broody so last Wednesday I got her a dozen fertile eggs. All has been going well. One egg broke, I think because I let her stay in a nest box and the others join her to lay. Well yesterday another hen went broody and she keeps getting in to the same nest. They sit there fine together and don't fight. I tried to move her off into her own nest but she keeps returning. Should I just let it happen? Can two hens share a clutch? Or am I just going to end up with broken eggs?

A woman I work with has three that routinely go broody together. Of course she has them using those big hooded cat litter boxes as nests so much more room than a standard tiny box. I'd make sure that no one else can get to them to lay more eggs in the nest and let them work it out for themselves.
