Two Eggs Everyday

Hi All

My hen who is 5 months old is regularly giving two brown eggs everyday.

One in the early morning and second one after 8 to 10 hours.

Is it a good or bad thing?

The eggs are fine without any problems. I assume sometimes we see two tools one egg. Inthis case it's two eggs .

Has she aways been laying 2 eggs a day?

Yes, good question, how long has she been doing this?

That's definitely not normal, and can cause reproduction issues in the future.
What I would do, is try giving calcium citrate +D3 with at least 500mg of calcium, give it once a day for a couple weeks or so and see if it helps.

How would more calcium help with this?
If she is laying 2 fully shelled eggs a day she doesn't need more calcium,
it would be more of a hormonal problem in releasing 2 ova a day.

The eggs aren't the same color which means they aren't from the same bird.

Mine has been laying 3 years

you guys should breed from these birds then send me the eggs. I could do with a flock of hens laying twice a day.

Well then, I guess all you can really do is monitor her. As there's not much you can do to fix her laying two eggs a day.

I've seen posts on here before saying it could help regulate the egg laying cycle.

I don't recall ever reading that.
