I don't have the dates for Lecenter, New Prague, Zumbrota, or Waverly yet. If anyone hears anything, can they please post. Most of the above swaps you will need all poultry to be tested for pullorum-typhoid and have documentation. Some of the exotic types of ducks and such will need certificates from the DNR. Turkeys usually have to be tested for Mycoplasma. Doors generally open by 7 am and everything is wrapped up by roughly 9-10 am. All charge a small admission fee like $2-3. The BCPPA swaps usually have a silent auction and kid's raffle. Sometimes you will have vendors there with feed and supplies. Come early for the best deals.

Now all I have to do is wait for them to start laying.
My sister ended up with a trio of call ducks, three young peafowl and a mutt rooster that is just gorgeous. I wish I had more room, I would have bought a lot more. (Maybe it's a good thing I don't have the room.)

Thats great! I brought home a pair of white homers, a buff muscovy hen, and my mom bought a pair of 4 y/o indian blue peafowl, I think we did really good with ony five birds, we talked to take everything home.. haha, what kind of peafowl did your sister get?

Here is an updated list of the the poultry/small animal swaps I have available so far. There is usually a small admission fee to get in. Chickens need current pullorum slips and some waterfowl may need DNR permits. Most start at 7 am. I can get you more information on the BCPPA swaps. Others are just dates I've accumulated. If anyone hears the dates for the swaps in Zumbrota, LeCenter, and New Prague will you let me know so I can update the list? Thanks

Thanks for the list WiseChicks. The New Praugue sale is March 21, 8 AM to 12 noon. Admission $3.00. More info call: Jane Pesta at (507)364-5074 or Tom Gillispie at (507)663-0972

Amos, my sister bought a black shoulder cock and two blue hens. They are all yearlings though. She has a pair of older blues already. She's just getting into the peafowl, I hope it goes well for her. She really wants to get some swans but so far the only ones she's come across have been too expensive.
