Egg shells for calcium is fine but NOT for Roos ... That's why there's Layer feed (extra calcium for the shells) for laying hens. Many have converted to All Flock type of feed with Oyster Shells/egg shells on the side.
GRIT is grit, some don't offer as it's said they pick at pieces of rocks and pebbles when free ranging. Grit is VERY important for ALL Poultry digestion, it helps to grind down the food in the crop. More so important if feeding grain.
I have seen the Oyster Shell/Grit comb sold but again, not for the Roos nor the chicks. That's why there's Starter/Grower for chicks ... Then again an all flock feed works for everyone.
