Hey everyone! I’m in Australia and I have eggs in my Janoel 24. I put them in yesterday so today is day 1. The default setting is 38C but on my hygrometer (it also measures temp) it says 40C. Therefore I lowered the incubator temp to 37.3C and the thermometer now ranges from 38-39C. What should I do? What should I trust? Any adjustments? Thank you!

Fill a large glass with ice and then fill it with cold tap water. Stir the ice water and let it sit for 3 minutes. Place your thermometer in the ice water, making sure to stick the probe at least 2 inches into the mixture, but not to touch the sides or the bottom of the glass. Stir the ice water with the probe to even out the temperature of the water and prevent the probe from resting against an ice cube. Wait at least 30 seconds for the thermometer to read the temperature. The temperature on your thermometer should read 32°F or 0°C. If the thermometer is off, make a note of how much it's off, and figure accordingly.

Will do! Won’t the sensor be destroyed in the water?

Sagey, do this with the thermometer you're verifying the temp with.
I know. This is why I am concerned. Look at the sensor.

I'd trust the temp on the incubator rather than the type you are using to confirm with. The type you are using to confirm the temp, are often slightly off. A regular glass thermometer would be better, since you can test it, and tell if it's off.
