I think a ridge vent is a great way to improve ventilation. I have one on my coop. One thought. If you get snow, you will want to clear the snow from the ridge vent. I had to do that quite a few times this winter.

We do get a LOT of snow. I live up on the mountain, so 2-3 feet on the roof is normal. I'm having such a struggle right now even shingling it that the ridge vent is looking daunting. I'm still debating. It may be one of those things I look to do in the future.

Are you kidding? How will Creteloc's young chickens feel at the first day of school when the others are saying things like:
* Can you believe their coop doesn't even have ridge vents?
* Don't talk to them. They come from the wrong side of the chicken tracks.
