Hello! If I drill 4-5 one inch holes in the front (pictured) and back, and cover them with hardware cloth, do you think that would be adequate ventilation for 4 birds?

Short answer: No.
Can you expound on your final size and design? Will you have deep overhangs on your the gable ends of this structure?

Here is the structure so far...

Looks like it's going to be a nice tractor! Ventilation is most important when it is super cold. Leaving the pop door open will help big-time. You already have the wheels built in, nice.
I have a big 8'x16', 8' roof coop with big run, but also have something similar to yours, just not A frame. It's 4'x8' with a run, I call it my small coop. Supposed to be a sorta tractor with a much bigger run, 14x50 run. Needs wheels. And moving the heavy metal post run.... takes a day all together.
Looks like your building a nice size tractor for four birds.

Can you extend the roof on the run side and then make a large triangle at the top. That would protect against rain/snow and help vent the hot humid air. You might also put a louvered vent on the outside end. That would allow some cross ventilation. An overhang would keep out rain while allowing the vents to work. Remember to us hw cloth to prevent letting the predators in. Good luck.

The entire run will be hardware cloth. The side of the coop part will be metal roofing sheets. Think that’ll get too hot? I like the idea of an overhang on the coop side, but I’m not picturing the first part of your suggestion, @jreardon1918. Can you show me a picture of what you mean? We are first timers, obviously, and my husband is just kind of building this on his own, no plans. I appreciate everyone’s suggestions!
