Very sick chicken

I had a BO that was broody. I read everything I could find and was getting real concerned about her not eating, she was losing weight. I had read somewhere that it may help to cool their vent area down. I put a Ziploc bag with some ice in it and placed it under her for just a short time, not even long enough for the ice to melt completely. It worked within a day she was back to her unbroody self. Not sure if that is what did it or she just got over it on her own, but I sure was happy.
