Our Rhode Island Red Rosie laid her first egg (the first of our pullets to lay one) on July 15th. After that, her voice changed from normal clucking to high-pitched clucking. Is this new sound because of motherly instincts, as if she hatched a clutch of chicks? She's still doing it today (and she's laid her second egg this morning). I'm not worried at all, but I'd just like to know what's happening.

Awww! Our Wyandotte Ruth started laying and now she sings the egg song as well (though she doesn't sing it as much as Rosie)

Thanks again Cotton42!
