Water Available at Night?

I was planning on feeding & watering my chickens only during the day... outside of the coop. Do I need to provide water or feed inside the coop? (The door closes at dark & opens about 6AM.)

Once your chickens roost, they won't be drinking. So if you close the door after they go into the coop to roost, and open it at 6AM, they *should* be fine.

Chicks are another matter of course.

I move mine in at night so I know they have it if they need a random drink, plus it's a little piece of mind being in such a hot, dry climate in the summer.

Food and water get out away at lock up for mine and then brought back when I let them out. Been this way for 1 yr and they are just fine.

Our birds go in at sunset and are let out at sunrise. The only time we have had food and water in the coop is during extreme weather and we still moved both out at night

No. The chickens will be roosting/sleeping anyway. They can't see in the dark so nobody would be jumping out of bed to go grab a drink.

Haha, same. I actually keep a jar of water next to my bed every night.
