We hatched!!

!st time incubating and against all odds our eggs have started to hatch.
Thanks to everyone and the great advice on this forum we persevered. We couldn't regulate the temp, the fan stopped and we let it dry out once.

I;m so glad we have a window to watch the action. So far one chantecler out of the egg.
I know why our broody hens are so puffed up once the babies are out and why they want to march oll over the yard showing them off.

Much as I want to take pics we're on lock down until the rest come out. That lone little chick peeping in the incubator makes you want to pick it up. It's amazing how loud they are.
This first one is day 19 so we've a couple of days to go. We're just geting the brooder up to temp. Good thing we started last night

Enjoy this magical moment to it's full! I tried about 13 times before I managed the incubator hatch but when it happened it was definitely worth it.

Final total was 15 out of 19. Not too bad for our first kick at the can.
Our Bantams are starting to hatch out naturally and I'm putting them all in the same brooder as mom is still sitting. X your fingers for the wee ones. they are so tiny compared.
