Today we made the decision to let our 3 runner ducks move to a farm about 30 minutes north of here, where they will have not one but two ponds to play in and love. It was a hard decision to make but in the longrun I believe the chickens in my coop will be happier and I know that the ducks will be too. I was getting really tired of the water the ducks would spill out and play in inside the coop at night. Outside they had a nice setup, so it didn't bother me or the chickens, but inside...not so cool.
My kids are heartbroken but I feel as if I made the right move and my kids understand why I did it, they just don't agree...We enjoyed them for the 8-9 weeks we had them but now I know, if I want ducks, they need their own house to mess up and being that I am on a smaller property it didn't work out.
